Welcome to the Institute of Brewing & Distilling

Library Archive Group

The Group is responsible for the Library and Archive affairs of the Institute. Its main role is to see that historical and new books, documents, records and archives from throughout the Industry are maintained and collated and available for research. The National Brewing Library, on permanent loan, at Oxford Brookes University and the library at Clarges St are the main repositories.

The members of the Group are: Chris Marchbanks (Chairman), Mike Butterworth (Secretary), Drs Ray Andersen, Ian Hornsey,Jon Hammond and Peter Maule, Prof.Paul Hughes and Messrs Tom Martin,John Fortescue, Dr Richard Webster, David Fordyce and Andrew Downes.

The Group is always after donations of old and new books, journals, archives etc relating to the Industry. Periodic book sales of duplicate are arranged. Anyone who has an attic full or surplus material and wishes to dispose of them please contact a member of the Group.
