American Craft Beers matched with Cheese

26/07/2012

American Craft Beers matched with Cheese

We have now scheduled a Beer & Cheese Matching event with Michael Landis is the National Training Manager for Schratter Foods / ANCO Fine Cheese in the United States. He conducts Craft Beer and Cheese Events around the US, Canada and the UK, pairing up the distinctive qualities of Artisan Cheeses and Craft Beers from around the world. Michael has been a Judge at the International Cheese Awards in Nantwich and the World Cheese Awards in Birmingham for the past couple of years and will be in London following his Judging Cheeses at the International Cheese Awards that week. He conducts Craft Beer and Artisan cheese seminars with the American Cheese Society, Great American Beer Festival and recently at the Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego California.

Michael will bring together Five Award Winning American Craft Beers with Five Award Winning English cheeses to introduce you to some common and not so common beer and cheese parings. Working closely with the brewers from Rogue Ales, Stone Brewery, Brooklyn Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co and Samuel Adams brewing company he will pair up them up with some award winning and fantastic cheeses from Belton Farm and Wensleydale Creamery.

The event will focus on the basic descriptors used in describing cheese and beer, this will help you understand and taste how they are individually and what makes them work together. Each cheese and beer will be discussed and paired up to bring out an understanding of why they were picked and you get to judge on how they work for you.

The following beers will be selected from:
Rogue Ales
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co
Samuel Adams Brewery
Stone Brewing Co
Brooklyn Brewery

5 American Craft beers matched with 5 cheeses.
