Welcome to the Institute of Brewing & Distilling

Dominika Kwarciak

How long you've been working in the industry?

6 years, I have been with Carlsberg since 2003 --I first joined Carlsberg in Poland and after a year I was seconded to Leeds. My secondment was supposed to last a year after which I was expected to go back to my home country. Four years have now passed and I am still in Leeds enjoying working for Carlsberg UK.

Why did you choose to work in the brewing/distilling industry?

First of all who would not like to work in brewing/distilling industry? When I was looking for a job in Poland unemployment was about 18%. I applied for several jobs. When Carlsberg offered me one I decided to join because I liked the atmosphere -- people were very friendly and also there was an opportunity to go abroad and learn how it is to work in a different country.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I have been fortunate not only to be involved in various projects (ranging from CIP to fermentation to quality to packaging) but also to work in different countries. - I have been given the opportunity to learn and develop and that is what matters to me.

I have also been lucky to meet people that are not only my colleagues but also friends.

And last but not least I like working in an industry with a huge history as I value the heritage.

Kind Regards, Dominika Kwarciak
