Welcome to the Institute of Brewing & Distilling

Inge Schrama

How long you've been working in the industry?

I started to work for Heineken in September 2007. One year after I graduated.

Why did you choose to work in the brewing/distilling industry?

First of all, Heineken as a company has a very good reputation because of the people working here and the way the product is presented in all markets worldwide. Heineken has many opportunities for trainees in and outside Holland. Heineken beer is known in every part of the world, even in the smallest villages of Madagascar the people know it! Most interesting and challenging is how to produce every time exact the same quality of beer with different raw materials and how to make sure that all markets' demands are on time.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

In a short period of time I get so many chances to develop my self within the company and also within the beer industry. My job is really diverse. I have been working in the Netherlands in two different breweries. I had the chance to join the professional brewing certificate program in UC Davis and the chance to work with five breweries in the Caribbean. Part of the job is doing and part of the job is conceptual. This combination makes it a very good trainee program that I really enjoy!

Kind Regards, Inge Schrama
