The SBAA is holding a half-day conference to explore and celebrate the diversity of the brewing industry in Scotland, and to explore its future. The event is open to anyone interested in the Scottish brewing scene: beer enthusiasts, collectors, members of the brewing industry, brewery historians, students studying brewing and marketing, etc.
Three experts from the industry have agreed to give presentations on the following topics:
1. The development of the industry - Professor Geoff Palmer, International Centre for Brewing and Distilling, Heriot Watt University
2. The micro-brewery landscape - Fergus Clark, Managing Director, Inveralmond Brewery
3. The future of the industry - Stephen Glancey, Chief Operations Officer, C&C Group - Tennent's
After the presentations delegates will have an opportunity to chat with the speakers and SBAA committee members over lunch, and to sample some of the innovative and distinctive beers from Scotland.
A small charge will be made for attendance at the event as follows:
£10 for existing members of SBAA
£15 for concessionaries (this includes a year's membership of the SBAA)
£25 for non-members (this includes a year's membership of the SBAA)
The price includes: coffee/tea on arrival, attendance at the presentations, a buffet lunch, and beer samples (subject to availability). The year's membership of the SBAA entitles the member to receive the association's journal and newsletters during that year, and to attend events organised by the SBAA.
