BEA Invites you to a One-Day Technical Seminar 'Local Efficiency - Global Sustainability'

Date: Thursday 17th March 2011, 0900 to 1600
Venue: The National Brewery Centre (formerly The Bass Museum), Horninglow Road, Burton-on-Trent, DE14 1NG

Brewing Engineers Association:
The Brewery Engineers Club, formed in 1976, was reconstituted as the Brewing Engineers Association in January 1998. It is an association of engineers from breweries, cideries and maltings who meet on a regular basis to discuss items of common interest.

Far from being a passive organisation, the Association demonstrates proactively in key areas where it seeks to promote best practice:

Environment
Utilities
Health and Safety
Operations
Maintenance
Training and Development

In these fields the Association works closely with important industry bodies such as the British Beer and Pub Association; Health and Safety Executive; Institute of Brewing and Distilling etc. The BEA also arranges an annual Technical Seminar, this one being the thirty-fourth in the series.

The theme "Local Efficiency - Global Sustainability" is highly topical. The brewing industry impacts on the environment as a user of energy, as a consumer of water and other natural resources and as a source, both directly and indirectly, of atmospheric emissions, trade effluent and packaging waste. Against this background the Brewing Engineers Association has brought together a group of speakers who will major on energy conservation, water conservation, waste minimisation and the goal of sustainable development.

The Presentation Titles Are:
- Real Time Energy Monitoring and Targeting Solutions
- The BioAmp System of Wastewater Treatment
- Path to Zero
- Progressive Environmental Management
- Thinking Globally, Acting Locally - the need to consider local risk in a global water strategy
- Brewers‟ Commitment to a Greener Future
- Assistance for Business in Energy Saving
- Energy Management - delivering the results

Cost:
The cost, which includes lunch, refreshments and a CD copy of the presentations, is £150.00 for non-members and £135.00 for members.

Applications:
Applications for you and your colleagues should be made to Mr Mike Cleator, BEA Treasurer,
2 Caudwell Drive, Mansfield, Notts, NG18 4SL.
Email: michael.cleator@ntlworld.com

Please include your cheque made payable to "Brewing Engineers Association". Early application is advised as the popularity of these seminars means they soon become over-subscribed and places are necessarily restricted.
