TERMS AND CONDITIONS

When you enrol as a candidate with us, you will become a registered candidate of the IBD and will have a unique IBD identification code that begins with the letter “P.”  You will be asked to confirm that you agree to follow the IBD’s Examination regulations, policies and procedures which along with your  details from your candidate contract with the IBD.

By enrolling with us, you are deemed to have accepted these regulations, procedures, policies and any other terms and conditions that the IBD has published on their website.

EXAM BASED QUALIFICATIONS

Enrolment on any of the IBD core qualifications provides you with access to online learning materials and this access will remain open until 90 days after the Examinations date. For any continuously assessed courses, access will continue until the advertised completion date of the course.

For our Examination based qualifications, you are encouraged to engage with the online learning materials and complete the exercises as a minimum level of study. Your completion of the material via this method may be shared with your Sponsor if they are the Payee for your Examination. However, this will be limited to user access time and completion of learning material self-assessments.  It is beyond the IBD’s scope to arbitrate, offer any opinion about your performance or expected success rate based solely on your attendance and completion of these online learning materials.

REFUNDS

IBD does not offer any Course, Tutorial or Examination fee refunds unless you have applied for this under the terms & conditions stated below.  These Terms & Conditions set out in this policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and the parties shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

PAYMENT OF QUALIFICIATION FEES

You must pay your qualification fees when you enrol. You can either pay the fees yourself or provide us with evidence that your fees (in part or in full) will be paid by a Sponsor. This Sponsor must be one which we recognise as acceptable, for example, your employer or your government embassy.

If your Sponsor falls in arrears beyond any credit terms agreed with the IBD, then you may be required to pay your fees to continue. Once we have received payment from your sponsor, we will reimburse you directly.

If your bank or credit card company refuses payment when your fees are requested, we reserve the right to withdraw you from your purchased qualification with immediate effect.

The IBD does not accept payment by instalment.

CHANGE OF EXAMINATION DATE

At the point of enrolment, you will be informed of the month and year that you are expected to sit the Examination. Deferrals are permitted to the next exam sitting when requested 10 weeks before the start of an examination cycle.

Deferrals are always limited to one time only and for the next available Examination date for the same Module.

Beyond the final date for registrations and deferrals, you may only apply to defer your Examination for a serious medical conditions. You will be required to provide formal medical evidence which we may verify further with the health specialist providing the statement of proof.

TUTOR GUIDED LEARNING TUTORIAL – DIPLOMA LEVEL – DEFERRALS AND REFUNDS

We do not accept deferrals for our Tutor Guided Learning programmes for the Diploma. If your withdrawal is due to medical grounds, you can apply for a refund. Proof of your illness will be required from a medical specialist. The refund will be pro-rated as stated below.

50% of the fee is non-refundable

Up to the 16th week of the tutorials, we will consider refunding you as follows:

Weeks 1 to 9: Non-refundable (Deemed to be 50% of )

Weeks 10 to16: 25% of remainder of the fee.

Weeks 17 to 18: No refund available at this stage.

 

SET FOR SUCCESS TUTORIAL  - GENERAL CERTIFICATE LEVEL – DEFERRALS AND REFUNDS

We do not accept deferrals for our Set for Success tutorial programme. If you have not been able to attend due to medical reasons, then you will be given access to the recording of the live sessions. However, this access will be up to the date of your Examination only. If you have also deferred your Examination for the same reason, then the access will be available until the actual date of your Examination.

COURSE ACCESS

For any IBD self-assessed course, access is available for 90 days from the date of enrolment.  Any self-assessed course is not refundable after enrolment unless required by law.

BEING A MEMBER OF THE INSTITUTE

 

All candidates are encouraged to apply to become a Member of the Institute. If you are studying one of our qualifications, then you may be eligible for a concessionary rate as advertised. There is no difference in benefits between the concessionary and standard rate of Membership. If you have completed your studies and wish to continue with the Membership, then you can do so by paying the standard rate.

All Members admitted to the Institute as a voting Member have a say in the running and development of the Institute. Your rights and obligations for this are set out in our By-Laws. Further information about this and the full detail of benefits will be given once your application to become a Member has been approved.

You are required to apply for Membership if you wish to enrol for our Master Level programme.
