THURSDAY, 11 July 2024

Meet at 13:15 for 13:30 departure from York railway station

Coach returns to Brew York Beer Hall (YO1 9TT) approx. 17:00

See how the 2024 barley crop is progressing ahead of harvest and gain insight into the ongoing trial work to secure future cereal harvests in Huggate at the IBD Great Northern section's next event!

Muntons and Frontier representatives will talk you through the growing stages of Barley and how this year’s conditions affect the crops.

This is a great opportunity to ask about agronomics, new malt varieties, sustainable growing and likely malt quality for this year. You will also have the chance to see the new malting barley varieties that are currently being trialled on farm.

Following the walk we will then return by coach to central York for refreshments at Brew York’s Beer Hall, where food will also be available to purchase.

Please wear sensible shoes/boots.
