Online Webinar

“What can isolation of yeast and bacteria from beers shipwrecked in 1825, 1870 and 1895 tell us about the features of the Golden Age of Brewing?"

The Great Northern Section are excited to invite members and guests to an online webinar reflecting on how modern techniques in molecular biology can help us understand historic brewing and provide value to brewing in the future.

The webinar will look at results from modern analysis of beers and address the question of whether historic ales have relevance to today’s brewing, and if past beers differ from current beers.

At the end, there is a Q&A with Dr Keith Thomas who is an expert in his field.

Speakers:

  • Dr Keith Thomas, Brewlab UK
  • Mr Mark Slater, Chairman IBD UK Great Northern Section

Tickets: Free

Why You Should Attend:

  • Understand results from a number of studies on historic beer analyses, particularly from retrieved samples.
  • Explore differences and similarities with today’s beers.
  • Identify potential benefits for future beer design.
