The Midland Section invites candidates taking the IBD Diploma in Brewing and General Certificate in Brewing qualifications to a Brewers Training Day complementary to their studies.
Led by experienced industry professionals, participants will have an opportunity to visit the Process Research Brewery in the morning and attend a Brewing Calculations tutorial in the afternoon.
The brewery is a 10 hl scale and will allow attendees to explore and contrast:
- Options for wort production
- milling/mashing/wort separation systems
- wort boiling/hot wort clarification
- late hopping techniques
- Options for fermentation and cellar operations
- Dried/wet yeast
- Propagation
- Yeast management
- Fermentation control
- Dry hopping techniques
- Centrifugation/Filtration
Please wear safety shoes.
Schedule:
- Arrive for a prompt 10:00 am start in the Process Research Brewery.
- 13.00 Lunch. There is a café/shop providing sandwiches/snacks at lunch time.
- 14:00 lecture theatre tutorial
