This follows on from last year's roundtable event where a SWOT analysis for cask beer was constructed. This event will start to answer some of the questions asked about the effectiveness of a category-wide marketing campaign in pubs to support cask beer.

Come to this insightful talk before heading to the Great British Beer Festival across the road.

Drink Cask Fresh

From March to May this year, a cross-industry group ran the Drink Cask Fresh campaign. This pilot phase was designed to learn if a category-wide marketing campaign in pubs could help make cask more visible and relevant to the younger drinkers it needs to attract. Beer writer and consultant Pete Brown oversaw the campaign and worked with researchers to collate and evaluate the results. In this session Pete will present what worked, what didn’t, and provide suggestions for the way forward for a national roll-out to revitalise the image of cask ale.

Speaker:

Pete Brown is a British author, journalist, broadcaster and consultant specialising in food and drink.
Author of numerous successful books about beer, food, cider and pubs over the past twenty years. Pete is also a journalist, speaker, consultant and broadcaster specialising in food and drink especially the fun parts like beer and cider.
Pete is also the founder of the Beer marketing awards, former Chair British Guild of Beer Writers, and has been voted Beer Writer of the year many times. And finally, he is the Director of the British Guild of Beer Writers Author and collator of the Cask beer report for many years.
