Join Distillers Rob Tyson and Nick Barnes for an overview of the Old Kempton Distillery’s operation on this historic site, including its objectives and place in Tasmanian distilling.

Martin Turmine, CEO – will also provide an overview and history of the Distillery – including the build, project management and the requirements of a compliant distillery.

Tastings of the distillery flagship spirit range and a light supper will be provided.

Product range: whisky, gin, lavender malt liqueurs and apple liqueurs.

Please wear enclosed shoes for the tour.



  • Rob Tyson

Tasmanian born and bred, Rob developed a love for gin and whisky working behind the bar in a Hobart Cellar Door. Seventeen years later he still enjoys sharing knowledge, stories and drams with visitors and locals alike.

  • Nick Barnes

Born and bred in Hobart, with a stint in South East Queensland from 2007-2020, Nick is a qualified electrician and has worked in a multitude of industries across the years. In 2023 he completed an Associate Degree in Applied Science (Fermentation and Separation).
