From start-up in an anonymous industrial unit in Fraserburgh back in 2007 to a bulging 600,000hL brewery, a distillery, sour beer plant, cidery, over 1400 employees and 57 bars worldwide is truly phenomenal growth. Then there is a second brewery operating in Ohio and a third planned for Brisbane in Australia next year.

New home of The Macallan - A control system engineering achievement

When Elite Control Systems completed the fi nal commissioning of a turnkey software control system for The Macallan’s new distillery, it represented more than successful completion of a job. It was an engineering achievement carried out on behalf of Edrington for The Macallan, its world-renowned single malt whisky.

Beer launches are ten-a-penny, so it has to be something pretty amazing to persuade me to attend one. The UK’s fi rst Trappist brewery, at Mount Saint Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire, sounded intriguing enough to qualify. As it turned out, it was a moment of brewing history in the making and I felt lucky to be there.
